As much as we enjoy the PS5 and PS4 games of today, we do often look through rose-tinted glasses at the PS2 days. If you grew up during that period, you’ll remember it was possible to wander into high street stores and find bargain bins filled with titles you’d never even heard of. Many of these weren’t great, but occasionally you’d find something scrappy with eye-catching artwork that you’d eventually fall in love with.
Wanted: Dead feels like a game from those bygone times – except it’s coming to the PS5 and PS4 on Valentine’s Day. As you can see from this trailer, there’s a lot going on: karaoke, toy capsule machines, and an entire arcade minigame – which, according to the publisher, will be released in full as a time-limited demo on the PS Store at some point. The core gameplay blends melee combat with third-person shooting, a little bit like spirited Nintendo Wii U exclusive Devil’s Third.
We don’t know about you, but this is on our wishlist.

It looks good, hopefully it won't be a high price as it is cross-gen. About £40 would be okay.
Looks quite good. Hopefully the Combat doesn’t get repetitive.
Not gonna lie, holding a cat as a weapon seems unconventional for the cover (compared to the katana, the sniper rifle and the guns). Other than that, animation and combat bits look dope.
@get2sammyb ah, this article reminds me of such games as XIII and Alpha Protocol, both I do not know where they were from, I guess I just liked the boxes and blurbs and got them in a shop or I was bought them? It's so weird we used to do things like this, no hype just end up getting something that might be good or bad and see what it's like. I know I enjoyed both of those games a lot (espionage stuff always intrigued me when I was younger). It's rare I play games like this now, though. I usually buy games that I know have an established fanbase, so I can trust it'll be worth it 😅
I'm now remembering how upset I was when it became obvious that AGENT would never be made too 😭😅
This looks so fun, but will have to wait till after Hogwarts Legacy!
It looks terrible but could be decent fun actually. Games have moved on but I have fond memories of PS2/Cube beat-em-ups like the atrocious but funny Minority Report game!
My kind of thing this is.
This is kind of game is right up my alley. Easily my most anticipated for 2023.
I'm getting a lot of Yakuza vibes. Nice to see Stefanie Joosten step out from under the shadow of MGSV's Quiet as well.
Looks pretty sick. Im in.
Interesting you name check Devils Third because this is made by what is basically the same studio because all staff moved over to Soleil Ltd.
Its way too wild.....I'm in.
@jrt87 psi ops was technically amazing for a ps2 game. Not even control gets those telekinesis powers as well as psi ops did.
This has early 2000s edginess written all over it, and I dig it.
Definite day one purchase for me. I genuinely love this kind of crap.
Seems to be a one-note game that plays said note very well. Yep, looks like ps2 comfort food.
edit spelling
Another crappy woke game where you play as a buff lesbian. Hard pass.
@tameshiyaku I do think we need more double A games where fun is the more important thing. I really would love something like a new Dark Cloud.
@Finozzi1696 Cos all games with a buff female lead is woke right?
People like you ruin the internet for the rest of us, grow up.
I had this pre-ordered awhile ago, but got canceled by Target sadly over a miscommunication in payment.
I'm taking that as a sign to wait a few years until it's $20 USD New during a Summer or Holiday sale.
@Shadcai £54.99 according to Amazon UK, Game, and Argos.
I did find it for £49.85 at ShopTo, but I'm unsure how reliable they are.
